Inspiration

Is this not the cutest little onesie you've ever seen?  This is actually the inspiration for the title of my blog that I found on Brantley & Richard's site. (http://richardandbrantley.blogspot.com/) I really felt a connection with them and was so moved by their story and journey to adoption.  During this difficult time of waiting, I find myself visiting their blog daily, if not more, and it gives me hope.  It brings me great joy to see this couple ,who I don't even know, see their dream come true.  They were recently matched and blessed with their baby girl on Jan. 4th.  Their little one can be seen wearing this onesie in their "Gotcha Day" video.  It's precious!  (warning though, have Kleenex on hand!)

Just Haven't Met You Yet...

A dear colleague of mine shared her sweet thoughts about our adoption recently.  She asked if I knew the song by Michael Buble, "Just Haven't Met You Yet".  I told her "Yes, I do know that song.  It's catchy!"  She told me to listen to the words because she instantly thought of Scott and I and the baby we haven't met yet.  The baby we are anxiously waiting for.  I paused and just stood there in awe... "yes, oh my goodness, I would have never thought of the lyrics in that way."   I immediately ran back to my computer and "Googled" that song to find the words and it became so perfectly clear!  I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated her well wishes and prayers.  Now, when that song comes on the radio, I crank it up and envision our sweet, sweet blessing to be!

Baby Class

I can't quit thinking about the Baby Care class we took this past Saturday.  I find it funny of ALL the hoops we had to jump through, of all the required classes, training, and "Parenting Classes", this was by far, THE most practical and informative one.  It was also the cheapest and shortest one too, ironically!  We learned so much, from, changing diapers, bathing, swaddling, and basic safety tips, we walked away feeling like we could actually do it all!  Now if we would just get that phone call!!!!!! Waiting is SO hard!

Faith

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." (Martin Luther King Jr.)  I have heard this quote many times before, but never has it meant so much to me as it does now.  I heard this repeatedly on the news, the radio, and even in a commercial on MLK Day just last week.  I think it was God's way of letting me know we are headed in the right direction on our journey to adoption.  I get asked daily by family, friends and colleagues, "Have you heard anything?", or "Any news?"  My reply is always the same, "No, not yet, but I have faith."  Faith is indeed taking the first step, but I am beginning to see a few steps on that staircase each day, as we near closer to the day we hear about Baby McBride.
